The Rationale Behind Our Annual Service Fee

In recent years, Lebanon’s logistics sector has operated under unprecedented challenges. While economic volatility, currency fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions have tested every player in the market, one issue has grown increasingly urgent: sustaining operational excellence and security in an environment of rising risk.

At Wakilni, our role goes far beyond moving orders from point A to point B. We are an integrated logistics partner. This means that we process and reconcile orders, manage cash collection, issue refunds, provide tracking and customer support, and ensuring every order meets the standards our clients expect. This extensive infrastructure requires skilled teams, advanced technology, and secure operations.

Historically, all of these services were absorbed within our delivery fees. However, the realities of the market, particularly Lebanon’s escalating security risks, have made it clear that a delivery fee alone can no longer sustain the level of service, safety, and reliability our clients depend on.

Between 2021 and 2025, theft and robbery rates in Lebanon rose sharply. According to Internal Security Forces data and multiple news reports, theft rates increased by 265% in 2021 compared to 2019, with vehicle thefts doubling and robberies becoming more aggressive.

Delivery workers have actually become direct targets. In 2021, a single perpetrator committed more than 20 thefts by luring delivery staff and fleeing without payment. By 2025, attacks escalated to armed robberies, with organized gangs targeting delivery personnel in Beirut’s southern suburbs. These incidents are no longer isolated. From Achrafieh to Mansourieh, and Tripoli to Baalbek, delivery operations face a higher risk profile than ever before.

This shift has forced us to invest heavily in protective measures: driver safety protocols, enhanced incident response systems, and operational changes designed to reduce exposure while safeguarding both our team and our clients’ goods.

Wakilni delivery operations

To maintain cost predictability while continuing to deliver reliable service, we introduced a $12 annual service fee per business account. This model:

  • Provides a small, predictable contribution ($1/month) to sustain the full scope of our operations.
  • Ensures continued investment in safety, reliability, and service quality.
  • Protects clients from cost volatility on each individual delivery.

The $12 service fee is a strategic measure to preserve what defines Wakilni: secure deliveries, accurate reconciliations, responsive customer support, and dependable operations every single day.
